The vintage jewellery market is very fascinating and has a rich history. Vintage jewellery often has an enchanting story and every piece of jewellery we sell is unique. If you have seen something beautiful on our website, Instagram or in the shop in Amsterdam, be quick because we only have one of each piece. We have a wide range of jewellery ranging from Art Deco to the Victorian style and from rare gemstones to timeless designs. The jewellery in our collection can all tell a unique story.

Popularity of Vintage Jewellery

In recent years, wearing vintage jewellery has become very popular, and we have noticed this on our website and in the shop. People want to create their own style and special pieces can do this. Moreover, buying vintage pieces contributes to sustainability and the preservation of cultural heritage. We therefore enjoy giving these pieces of jewellery a new life and making them available to new owners, thus trying to contribute to the preservation of valuable craftsmanship.

Selecting and selling vintage jewellery requires a thorough knowledge of styles, materials, craftsmanship and a keen eye for authenticity. We therefore collaborate with a number of experts, such as goldsmiths and gemologists. These people have an enormous amount of expertise, which guarantees the authenticity of every piece of jewellery sold. They can examine materials, marks and styles to determine the value of a piece.

When we sell vintage jewellery, we believe it is important that heritage can be cherished and any meaning of a piece of jewellery can be passed on. Sold jewellery can eventually be passed on as heirlooms, this can give it an emotional value beyond its material value. After selling, these pieces of jewellery are therefore reintroduced to the world. When the jewellery finds a new owner, it marks the end of a story but also the beginning of a new adventure.

Have your dream jewellery designed

What makes sold vintage jewellery extra special is that they will, almost certainly, not return to our range. So we can say that they are not just products but treasures that can only accompany one owner at any given time. This is what also makes our collection very exclusive and with this, the uniqueness of each piece of jewellery is highlighted. The realisation that only one of each piece of jewellery can be found in our collection can add an extra dimension. So once a piece of jewellery is sold, it will not come back, but we have a solution for this.

Imagine that a piece of jewellery you fell in love with has already been sold. To still be able to help you, our goldsmith can make jewellery on demand in our own atelier. Thus, based on a drawing or picture, we can create a piece of jewellery entirely according to your wishes and hope to still make you happy with a beautiful piece of jewellery. Or if you have a different idea for a piece of jewellery, please visit our shop so we can make these ideas a reality.

If you choose to have a ring made from scratch, we are happy to help. It all starts with making the design, this can be based on a picture, drawing or explanation. If you are actually not quite sure yourself, our Vintage team can also help you, our team has seen many different types of rings. Therefore they may be able to help you with your idea so that together we can come up with a beautiful ring, pendant, necklace, brooch or bracelet. After a design, we will take the idea to our goldsmith, after which a quotation will be made. The goldsmith will look at how much gold will need to be used and the cost of possibly some gemstones. After this, a 3D drawing will be made, from which the mold will be created. A mold will be used in order to get the desired shape of the ring. The casting can then begin, so we can make yellow gold, white gold and rose gold jewelry for you.

The gold we use is all recycled because at Vintage Jewellery we want to do our part for the environment. Choosing vintage rings or rings made from recycled gold will reduce the demand for the production of new gold. After the ring is cast and ready, any stones can be set, you can think of diamonds, sapphire, ruby, aquamarine, citrine but much more. Almost anything is possible so almost any stone you can think of. After setting the gemstone or gemstones, the goldsmith will start finishing the ring and polishing it for a beautiful shine. When the goldsmith is finished with the ring it will be brought to our store, here we will also go over everything to make sure it is completely to your liking. Finally, the jewelry can then be picked up or sent to the right person. The process of designing and making a new piece of jewelry takes about 4 to 5 weeks.

Buying Old Gold

At Vintage Jewellery, we would love to help you find the perfect piece of jewelry, whether it's a vintage piece or one made from recycled gold. In addition to selling jewelry, we also buy jewelry. On our website Oudgoud.nl you can find the gold price we pay for the weight of gold you turn in, this can be done both at our Vintage store in Amsterdam and at Sako Juwelier in Monnickendam. You can easily make an appointment by calling or emailing us. In our stores we will then help you further. But also with other questions you can always mail or call us during our opening hours, which can be found on the website.
