Vintage gold ring with cat's eye gemstone, 18 kt
Product information
A lattice of 18 karat precious gold embraces a chatoyant violet glass gemstone. Chatoyancy is a gemstone phenomenon where a bright band of light appears across the surface of a gem.
It is also known as a cat's eye and is usually caused by fine, needle-like inclusions in a gemstone. The enchanting effect is often seen in precious gems such as chrysoberyl, sapphire, spinel, tourmaline and ruby. Sometimes the cat's-eye effect can also be present in man-made gemstones, as in this deep-violet glass cabochon with a cat's-eye. Not the right ring size? Our goldsmith can adjust it in our own workshop.
