Vintage gold brooch with ruby and diamond 14 kt
Product information
This brooch, a subtle jewel from the Edwardian era (1901–1915), is lavish in every respect. The central ruby is natural and shows the finest color and saturation, flanked by two natural diamonds of exceptional quality.
Each 0.07 karat diamond is an antique Old Mine cut and has been assessed by our gemologist as F color, VS clarity.
Brooches were indispensable during the Edwardian era and were often pinned at the neckline of dresses. At the time this brooch would have been a luxury item, certainly owned by a well-to-do woman. It remains a work of art, with extremely fine gemstones and a setting that ensures the stones steal the show.
The clasp of the brooch is very likely a replacement of the original. Brooches from this period were usually made with C-shaped clasps, whereas this clasp is a more modern invention, offering greater security for a brooch of this importance.
