Gold vintage brooch with ruby and diamond 14 kt
Product information
This brooch, a subtle jewel from the Edwardian era (1901-1915), is lavish in every respect. The central ruby is natural and has the most beautiful color and saturation, flanked by two natural diamonds of exceptional quality.
Each diamond of 0.07 karat is an antique Old Mine cut and has been assessed by our gemologist as F-color, VS-clarity.
Brooches were indispensable during the Edwardian era and were often pinned to the necklines of dresses. This brooch was then a luxury item, that certainly belonged to a wealthy woman. It remains a work of art, with extremely fine gemstones and a setting that ensures the gemstones steal the show.
The clasp of the brooch is very likely a replacement of the original. Brooches from this period were usually made with C-shaped clasps, while this clasp is a more modern invention, but offers more security for a brooch of this importance.
