Blue and clear as a Caribbean ocean, this ring has a statement-sized aquamarine surrounded by sparkling rose-cut diamonds. The scalloped gallery spiral adds the perfect touch of elegance.
The name aquamarine comes from the Latin word for “seawater”; according to historical accounts the gemstone was believed to have the power to calm waves and protect sailors. Aquamarine is a member of the beryl family, which also includes the lush green emerald and the soft pink morganite, as well as the lesser-known colorless goshenite and sunflower-yellow heliodor. Unlike emerald and morganite, aquamarine is an excellent choice for a ring and is durable enough to be worn more often (but as with all vintage jewelry, be sure to remove your rings before working with your hands, coming into contact with chlorine or bleach, playing sports, showering, or sleeping).
