This gold vintage ring with howlite and diamond is a distinctive mid-century design from the 1960s, with sculptural lines and color at its heart. The cabochon-cut dyed howlite has a vivid turquoise-blue hue, accented at the center by a diamond that adds a refined sparkle. The openwork gold form with its ridged bands gives the ring its characteristic 1960s look: bold, decorative, yet carefully balanced. Its shape evokes the optimistic design tradition of the mid-century period, when jewelry was often conceived as small sculptures for the hand.
