These Art Deco earrings from around 1925 are made of platinum and feature perfectly matching emeralds, surrounded by pavé-set diamonds. Colourful gemstones such as emeralds were used by

designers used to create contrast with the white metals and diamonds, which enhanced the geometric designs.

The Art Deco period (1915-1935) celebrated freedom, self-expression, and bold style. Emeralds, known as "The Jewel of Kings," have been valued for thousands of years and are often worth more than rubies, sapphires, and even diamonds. Cleopatra wore emeralds to display wealth, and the vibrant green colour was praised as a symbol of spring and hope.
